Local-first research data handling.

This page describes the privacy behavior supported by the current NovoNumeric 5 application source. It is written as a technical document rather than a marketing claim.

1. Core principle

NovoNumeric is designed as a local-first, offline-capable desktop application. The supplied Version 5 source states that research-data processing occurs on the user's Mac and that the application does not collect, store, transmit or provide the developer access to personal data or research datasets.

2. Data collection

The current application source states that NovoNumeric does not require an account and does not collect personal identifiers, research data files, analysis results, usage analytics, tracking data or telemetry.

Research files

CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and other supported user files are accessed locally after the user chooses them. The supplied application code contains no general research-data upload service.

Analysis results

Numerical output, charts and exported results remain under the user's control on the local device.

3. Processing and storage

Statistical calculations, transformations and visualization logic are executed by the desktop application. Original files remain in their original locations unless the user explicitly chooses an export or save operation. Exported results are written to locations selected by the user.

4. macOS sandbox

The Version 5 entitlements supplied with the application enable the macOS App Sandbox and com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-write. This means file access is based on files and locations selected by the user within the macOS sandbox model.

5. Third parties

The current application source contains no first- or third-party analytics, advertising network, telemetry SDK or data-broker integration. User-initiated App Store download and update activity is governed by Apple's services and privacy terms.

6. Website

This website is a static product website and does not add application analytics or tracking scripts. Standard web-server access logs may be generated by the hosting provider as part of normal hosting operation; NovoNumeric does not use this site to receive research datasets for statistical processing.

7. Changes

The privacy specification may be updated when the product architecture or legal requirements change. Material changes should be reflected both on this website and, where applicable, in the application.
